When life throws you a lemon...

Slices of lemon
When life throws you a lemon, make lemonade!

Well what a time we've all had recently and I for one am really glad that I live in little old New Zealand and the team of 5 million have got down to alert level 1 and life can get back to 'normal', well some kind of normal anyway. I work mainly from home, so social distancing hasn't really been a problem, but that doesn't mean it's been all easy going.

I'm a big fan of walking round the neighbourhood and am looking jealously at neighbours lemon trees, all hanging with fruit, whereas my lonely tree has no fruit at all this year (2nd year running I may add!).

So this blog I thought I'd focus on lemons and the benefits of their oils. Not to say that other citrus don't have benefits, yes they do, but we're not fully into winter yet so they can wait for another blog!

Citrus oils are among the favorites in any essential oil collection. They are versatile and effective - basically sunshine in a bottle, especially when there isn't any sunshine!! You can use them for so many things - cleaning, diffusing, healing and lifting your mood. Here are some suggestions which will be available in my newest taster pack for your citrus delights.

Roller Balls -

Tis almost the season to be...well...sniffly. Forget Covid-19, the seasons are changing and this roller ball will give you some support for the normal winter colds.

  • Lavender

  • Lemon

  • Peppermint

The calming and healing of the lavender, the zing and uplift from the lemon and the buzz from the peppermint is bound to put a bounce back in your step.

Unfortunately sometimes the sniffles turn a wee bit nasty and need a bit more attention, this mix will definitely help.

  • Lemon

  • Peppermint

  • Frankincense

Yep it does sound a bit like the first one but in this you have the warm and spicy scent of Frankincense. Frankincense is known for it's healing properties but is also useful for the respiratory system, easing the breath and clearing congestion.

How's your stress levels going right now? Here's a cracker of a recipe if you're feeling a bit grrrr right now.

  • Frankincense

  • Orange

  • Lemon

With this one you get the uplifting mood from both citrus oils and really frankincense should be in everyone's cupboards as it really is the ultimate healer, so as above it can help with congestion, it can also help with calming the mind. Maybe a good thing if you've been home schooling for the last few weeks!

So check out the shop for the latest collection, 6 items as usual and there is bound to be something there for you and/or yours.
